Poker Room Setup
We spread poker on our 80,000 square foot gaming floor at 204 Dakota Dunes Way in Whitecap, Saskatchewan. The poker area sits beside blackjack, roulette and baccarat, and from the main entrance you can follow casino signage straight to the tables.
Most of the time the room leans toward cash play. Tournament layouts come and go depending on the weekly calendar, so you will see the floor change shape a bit. Table limits also move during the week: stakes stay a little lower Sunday to Wednesday, then start climbing from Thursday through Saturday when we run 24 hours.
Guest Services runs a daily box office from 10 am until midnight. That team looks after reservations, signups, waitlists and basic questions about seats and table types.
Games We Spread
Texas Hold’em is the anchor game in the room. Omaha tables open when there is enough interest, and we start blinds low in the main area so casual players can sit in, with higher blinds available elsewhere.
Tournaments roll through on a weekly rotation, with most multi-table events slotted into weekend evenings. Buy-ins shift from smaller entry levels to mid-stakes so different bankrolls have a place. At times we schedule satellites where seats lead into larger championship-style events.
Core table rules stay standard: minimum age 19 with government photo ID, and a SIGA Players Club card is strongly recommended so your hours and promo eligibility are tracked. We enforce table stakes, apply a standard rake on cash hands, and show all tournament fees at registration.
When Tables Run
From Sunday to Tuesday we operate 9 am to 4 am. On Wednesday we open 9 am and close at midnight. Thursday, Friday and Saturday the floor goes non-stop, open 24 hours.
Within those hours, poker volume shifts. The room generally peaks from Friday evening through late Sunday afternoon, when we aim to keep the maximum number of tables running. During midweek stretches, we may combine games and work with fewer tables while still keeping action going for those who come out.
| Day | Casino Hours | Poker Tables Active |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday | 9 am - 4 am | 3-5 tables |
| Monday | 9 am - 4 am | 2-4 tables |
| Tuesday | 9 am - 4 am | 2-4 tables |
| Wednesday | 9 am - midnight | 2-3 tables |
| Thursday | 24 hours | 4-6 tables |
| Friday | 24 hours | 5-8 tables |
| Saturday | 24 hours | 5-8 tables |
To avoid surprises, we suggest calling Guest Services before you drive in. When all seats are taken, we put you on a waitlist and, at check-in, staff will quote an estimated wait time.
Getting Started
First-time poker guests register with the SIGA Players Club. Sign-up happens at Guest Services and needs government-issued photo ID showing you are at least 19. The process is quick, usually around five minutes, and your profile then works at every SIGA location.
You present your ID, complete a short contact form, receive a Players Club card with your membership number, then activate that card at any machine or table. After that, your poker play starts turning into tracked points.
Your time at the tables is recorded on the card. Those tracked hours convert into promo credits, food vouchers, and invitations to member-only offers. Players with heavier volume are flagged by our team and may be introduced to a dedicated host for higher-tier benefits.
If you arrive without a SIGA card while poker is active, you can also start the paperwork right at the poker podium. Our staff there will handle the form, issue a temporary card on the spot, and your permanent plastic is mailed within roughly 10 business days.
Buy-Ins and Bankroll
Cash tables use posted minimum and maximum buy-ins at each game. For lower-limit Hold’em, buy-ins usually land around 20 to 40 big blinds; as stakes rise, required buy-ins climb and can reach 50 to 100 big blinds or more.
You can buy chips directly from the dealer at the table using Canadian currency. For larger amounts or redemptions, the cage beside the main floor exchanges bills for chips and cashes out your stack when you are done.
Tournament entries are taken at Guest Services. Each buy-in includes the contribution to the prize pool plus the applicable rake. Some events allow re-entries or add-ons, and those details are read out or posted before the tournament begins.
Over the years we have seen that basic bankroll discipline helps players last longer. Our floor staff routinely recommend setting a personal loss limit for each session, not jumping up in stakes to chase losses, and stepping away for a short break every 90 to 120 minutes. You can track your own wins and losses, and, if you like data, use your Players Club history to look at longer-term performance.
High-Limit Room
For guests who qualify, our high-limit gaming room offers more privacy and a different level of service. Entry is by invitation or by meeting play thresholds at the regular tables.
High-limit poker usually runs by appointment. Dedicated hosts coordinate game start times, stake levels and who is confirmed in the lineup. Inside, amenities are stepped up: private beverage service, upgraded seating, and a direct path to VIP dining options.
We keep the main poker area casual for dress, but the VIP room follows a more formal standard. Floor management makes the final call on what is suitable in that space.
Typical invitation factors include consistent larger buy-ins over multiple tracked sessions, a steady play pattern over several visits, a SIGA Players Club status of Gold or higher, referrals from current high-limit players, or qualification through performance in specific tournaments.
